NC-PACE cybersecurity outreach activities and initiatives are designed to raise awareness, educate, and engage individuals and communities about cybersecurity threats, best practices, and strategies to protect against them. It involves reaching out to various stakeholders, such as the general public, students, businesses, government organizations, and non-profit groups, to promote cybersecurity awareness and provide guidance on how to stay safe in the digital realm. Scholarships for cybersecurity certifications such as Sec+ and Cisco Cyber Ops.

NC-PACE Outreach Activities and Initiatives:

Symposia. UNC Charlotte, UNC Wilmington, and NC State University conduct yearly symposia. Check out the Events tab for more information

Collaborate with local school districts to host a variety of cybersecurity activities for K-12 students

Participate in Hackathons, National Cyber League, and Capture the Flag competitions.

GenCyber Summer Institutes/Camps. UNC Charlotte hosted a GenCyber Teacher Institute to help K-12 teachers develop a conceptual understanding of GenCyber Cybersecurity First Principles and Concepts that they will integrate into two culturally responsive lesson plans that are aligned with national, state, and district curriculum standards, promote ethics and foster student interest in the cybersecurity field

Practicum courses for students to participate in cybersecurity projects with industry partners

Grant-funded internships developed to provide students with real world experience and industry/government with no-cost temporary staff
